Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this temple is located along the banks of the Alaknanda River and is a primary Char Dham pilgrimage site.

Established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The current structure was built by the Kings of Garhwal.

कहानी

Legend says Lord Vishnu performed rigorous penance here, and Goddess Lakshmi took the form of a Badri (jujube) tree to shield him from the harsh sun and snow.
