The adventurous childhood story of the monkey god Hanuman leaping into space to swallow the sun, thinking it was a ripe fruit.

When Hanuman was a little child, he woke up early in the morning feeling incredibly hungry. Looking out of his cave, he saw a glowing, vibrant orange-red ball rising in the eastern sky. Believing it to be a massive, delicious, ripe mango, the divine child took a mighty leap into the atmosphere. Because he was the son of the Wind God, he flew across space at terrifying speeds.

As he approached the Sun, Rahu (the eclipse planet) tried to stop him, but Hanuman brushed him aside. He reached out and popped the entire blazing hot Sun right into his mouth! The universe plunged into absolute darkness, throwing the Gods into a panic. Indra, the King of Heaven, struck child Hanuman with his thunderbolt to release the sun. Hanuman fell unconscious, prompting his father, the Wind God, to stop all air flow in protest until the gods blessed the child with immortality and unmatched cosmic powers.
